JEC East-Side Elevated Walkway Closure – Effective May 26

Effective May 26, 2026

PCC Contracting has begun mobilization and site setup in preparation for summer construction on the east-side elevated walkway between the Darrin Communications Center (DCC) and the Jonsson Engineering Center (JEC). Repairs to the west-side walkway between the JEC and the Green Building are complete, and construction activities have shifted to the east side.

What’s Closing: The east-side elevated walkway between the Darrin Communications Center (DCC) and the Jonsson Engineering Center (JEC), including the underpass, is closed for construction.

How to Get Around: Alternate pedestrian routes between DCC and JEC are in place, with ADA accessibility prioritized in the routing plans. Directional signage has been installed along all routes. Please refer to the following routing maps for details: DCC-JEC Walkway Project Wayfinding Maps

Project Duration: Construction will continue through the summer. Due to long lead times for materials, intermittent closures of the walkway and/or portions of the walkway are anticipated into the fall semester. Full project completion is expected by November. Additional updates will be shared as work progresses.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we complete these important campus infrastructure improvements.
