Change in Faculty/Staff Meal Plan Option

We would like to inform you of an important change regarding campus dining options for faculty and staff.

Effective at the end of the current ARCH 2025 Semester on August 15, 2025 the Faculty/Staff 15 Block Meal Plan will be discontinued. Please use any remaining meals before August 15, 2025. 

As part of our ongoing efforts to streamline services, changes in meal pricing and offering greater flexibility, we will transition fully to the Community RAD (Rensselaer Account Dollars) system at the start of the Fall 2025 Semester as the primary dining option for faculty and staff.

Community RAD offers enhanced flexibility and long-term value:

  • Discounted door rate at all dining halls. Savings of up to $3 per meal.
  • Discount at all retail locations on campus including Starbucks.
  • Funds never expire – use them as long as you are part of the RPI community.
  • Accepted at all dining halls and retail locations across campus:
    Panera, Wild Blue, Jimmy John’s, Bird N’ Brine, Halal Shack, DCC Café proudly serving Starbucks, Argo Tea, Fathers, The Beanery Café, and Evelyn’s Café.
  • Self-funded account connected to your RPI ID – deposits made online.
  • When you leave RPI, any balance over $10 is refunded; balances under $10 are forfeited

We encourage you to make the transition to Community RAD to continue enjoying convenient, campus-wide dining access and would ask that you help us spread the word to your colleagues about this new and exciting change.
