Announcements

Beginning Monday, September 22, 2025, RPI Facilities Management will begin a project to replace leaking steam pipes along the north sidewalk in front of E Dorm and across the roadway at the Sage Avenue campus entrance.

We hope your semester is off to a great start!

Please be reminded that starting immediately, all students with an active meal plan must present their valid student ID card to access meals in the dining halls. This policy helps ensure efficient service and accurate meal tracking.

What You Need to Do:

We are pleased to announce that a favorite among the RPI Community is back. Starting this Wednesday September 10th, Burgers on Burdett returns to the Commons Dining Hall during lunch.

Stop by Commons Dining Hall and enjoy a burger with some great toppings!

Keep an eye out on Morning Mail for future dining updates as they are announced.

We hope to see you there.

Permit Enforcement Resumes: September 2, 2025

In collaboration with our Facilities and Public Safety teams, we are implementing several enhancements to campus signage and parking gate access systems. These improvements are designed to increase clarity, accessibility, safety, and compliance—ultimately making it easier and safer for everyone to navigate campus.

Students with a residential meal plan (Unlimited,19 On Demand,15 On Demand,12 On Demand,5 On Demand), great news, your parents can dine with you at no cost at any campus dining hall from August 28, 2025 to December 22, 2025

Whether it's a surprise visit or a planned family weekend, you can now share a meal without using your guest swipes or spending extra.

Good news students! If you're on one of the following residential meal plans:

  • Unlimited
  • 19 On Demand
  • 15 On Demand
  • 12 On Demand
  • 5 On Demand

You now have 4 Guest Swipes at any dining hall per semester!!

Use your guest swipes to treat a friend to a meal on campus. It's our way of helping you share the experience!

You asked, we listened!
Starting August 24th, Commons and Russell Sage dining halls will remain open for lunch later to better fit your schedules. Whether you're coming from a long class, a study session, or just need a flexible lunch option — we’ve got you covered!

⏰ New Late Lunch Hours:
Commons Dining Hall will now be open Saturday and Sunday 2:00 pm – 4:30 pm and 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm Monday-Friday for late lunch service.

The project has come across an unexpected issue and will require adding additional shoring to be installed while structural repairs are being addressed on the underside of the bridge. This will result in the closure of the underpass under the bridge until 8/29/25. We are doing this now so that the underpass can be restrictively (closed during working hours, open nights weekends) and reopened before the Sage Ave. entrance closure on 9/8/25.

The Parking and Transportation Department would like to inform the RPI community that shuttle service for the fall semester will begin on August 25th. Hours of Operation are as follows:

The Parking and Transportation Department is pleased to announce that the 2025-2026 parking permits are now available for purchase. Permits can be purchased online by visiting rpi.aimsparking.com. Any questions can be directed to parking@rpi.edu

We encourage all Rensselaer community members to purchase a permit to avoid receiving any violations.
