Parking Permits

All Rensselaer parking spaces on campus require a valid virtual parking permit that can be accessed at rpi.aimsparking.com.  All vehicles with a valid virtual parking permit must be parked in the designated lot associated with the permit to avoid potential parking fines.

  • Fall Parking Permits to expire on 12/22/2025

Please note that any Fall semester only parking permits will expire on 12/22/2025. Spring semester only permits will be available starting on 12/23/2025.

If you purchased a full year permit, no further action is needed. Continue to park as normal.

Permits are on a first come first served basis. If you have any questions please reach out to Parking and Transportation at parking@rpi.edu or call 518-276-6616.

  • Faculty and Staff: Active Parking permits will be automatically rolled over for the new fiscal year. There is no need for you to re-register for parking if you have a payroll deduction as method of payment. Faculty and staff will be given options limited by the building in which they work.  Any options unavailable mean that the number of spaces available in that parking lot have sold out. Please note: Only one parking permit is allowed for purchase.
  • Students: First-year students may not register a vehicle for parking on Rensselaer property. Your ability to register for specific parking lots is based on your residential status. Residential and non-residential students will have different parking lots to select from. Students have the option of adding parking fees to their student account or using a credit card. Please note: Only one parking permit is allowed for purchase.

If you have a Departmental (D) or Service Internal (SI) permit, please contact your department coordinator about the renewal process.  For any other permit or vehicle questions, please contact the parking office at parking@rpi.edu or 276-6616.
